civil society organizations, and governments to achieve long term development
goals. We produce creative media content to inform and engage audiences, and
strengthen the media sector by building professional skills and technical
capacity.
BBC Media Action is looking for interested/motivated candidates
to join the Team as: FINANCE OFFICER
(Salary – N250, 000.00 gross per month)
FINANCE OFFICER
The position is Abuja-based and may involve travelling to
focal states. The projected start date is
20th October 2014. Initial contract
is for 1 year (with a probation period of 3 months) with possibility of
renewal.
JOB PURPOSE
The Finance Officer is responsible for the preparation of
monthly cost report, reconciliations, payroll and other tasks assigned to meet
the overall departmental objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of Monthly cost report;
Reconciliations of outstanding Advances;
Preparation of Monthly Payroll;
Reconciliation of prepayments;
Preparation of various schedules (PAYE, Pension, WHT and
Medical Insurance);
Preparation of cash flow for project activities;
Conduct weekly cash count;
Verify all postings by the finance assistant;
Support the finance assistant in cash disbursement;
Support office audit;
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential
First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business
Administration or in related field;
Experienced working in finance department of a reputable
international NGO will be an added advantage;
Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll
and auditing is required;
Experience in preparation of Payroll;
Ability to communicate accounting and financial information
clearly and concisely;
Ability to operate common accounting system, spread sheet
and word processing programs at a proficient level;
Fluency in spoken and written English;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
