public health research and technical assistant firm dedicated to improving the
health of individuals and communities throughout the world. It manages the
USAID/DELIVER PROJECT and the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) project in
the Nigeria office.

recruiting to fill the position below for the period of eight months (subject
to renewal) in its Abuja office.
FINANCE CONSULTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION
The finance consultant will work
under the guidance of the Associate Director Finance and Administration and
overall supervision of the Director of Finance and Administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities will
include, but not limited to the following:
Manage the JSI field accounts
system, review chart of accounts, generate Quick Book reports as needed for
project reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Regularly update QuickBooks,
prepare bank account reconciliation and resolve account variances in compliance
with all US Government (USG) and JSI financial management and accounting
policies and regulations.
Ensure that all financial
transactions are completed with high degree of accuracy, in full compliance
with USG and JSI requirements and within established timelines.
Assist the Director of Finance in
the analysis, development, and documentation of internal process and control
and ensure compliance with all USG and JSI financial management and accounting
policies and regulations.
Reconcile and track outstanding advances,
updates inventory logs, monitors projects expenses and track expenditures and
accruals.
Provide support and guidance to
program and other administrative staff in accordance with JSI policy and
procedures, including travelling to field offices, training sites and other
field locations when required.
Develop and maintain an effective
professional relationship with JSI’s local banking institutions
Engage in other financial tasks
as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
Applicants for this position must
possess the following qualification and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
or Financial Management
At least 3 years Financial
Management experience.
Experience with Quick Book is
strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and
Excel required.
Experience and knowledge of
Nigerian tax law.
Financial experience with a
USAID-funded project and knowledge of USAID and regulations would be an
advantage
Excellent verbal and written
English
HUMAN RESOURCES CONSULTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION
The human resources consultant
will work under the guidance of the human resources administrator and overall
supervision of the Director of finance and administration to provide
operational support to implement an effective and functional human resources
process for key areas including recruitment, employee relations, benefits
administration and compensation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities will
include, but not limited to the following:
Ensure that all personnel records
are up to date and filed appropriately both manually and electronically.
Assist in organizing appropriate
human resources record keeping system, internal and external communications,
and team administration.
Follow-up to ensure that all human
resource documents are signed by relevant parties.
Assist in preparing reference
letters to referees and in collating reports for candidates’ personnel files.
In consultation with the Human
Resource Administrator, invite selected candidates for interviews and ensure
that candidates have proper documentation during the interviews.
Liaise with Human Resource
Administrator to provide logistic support for entitled new hires and interview
candidates.
Assist in the tracking of
performance assessment forms. Track employee changes such as change of address,
change of job title, dependents, name etc.
Collects and collate required
data/documentation for the health insurance scheme including complete forms,
duly labeled passports, birth certificates or sworn declarations and document
each in individual personnel files.
Ensure that individual personnel
file documentation physically correspond with the number of dependents claimed
by any one employee under the scheme.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
Applicants for this position must
possess the following qualification and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Human
Resources Management, Business/Public Administration or related discipline with
at least 3 years’ experience in the areas outlined.
Ability to maintain
confidentiality for sensitive human resource issues and maintain a high sense
of judgement to execute duties.
Ability to take initiative and
exhibit traits of courtesy, cooperation, respect and customer service.
Computer literacy and proficiency
in the use of Microsoft Office application.
Excellent written, oral and
interpersonal communication skills.
Experience in an international organization
or NGO will be an added advantage.
ADMINISTRATIVE CONSULTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Administrative consultant
will work under the guidance of the Office Administrator and overall
supervision of the Director of Finance and administrator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities will
include, but not limited to the following:
Assist the Office Administrator
in providing oversight for the general administrative functioning of the office
on a day to day basis.
Coordinate all logistics support
for staff, including travel and lodging arrangements, transport, desk setup.
etc.
Liaise with travel agents to
obtain reservations and tickets for all project related travel.
Provide support in the
coordination of the administrative personnel to create and maintain all administrative
and technical file for the office.
Work with the drivers to ensure a
regular maintenance schedule for all vehicles, and ensure that vehicle log
books are kept up-to-date.
Assist the office manager to
oversee the up keep of the office, including needed repair and daily cleaning.
Provide support in the
supervision of the receptionist, administrative assistant and the drivers.
Assist the Office Administrator
in ensuring constant availability of office supplies.
Help to oversee the maintenance
of all office supplies and equipment including scheduling of routine
maintenance.
Assist in the management of
various service contracts in coordination with the accountant for both the office
and expatriate staff residences including cleaning/gardening/reception service,
security, drinking water supply, generator maintenance etc.
Serve as liaison with the office
landlord, assisted by the Director of Finance and Administrator when necessary.
provide other support to the team
as needed.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
University degree in
Administrative Science or related field plus 3 years relevant work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and
Excel required.
Strong verbal communication
skills.
Experience with both hard copy
and electronic filling system.
Experience with inventory
management.
Experience with office
management.
Experience working with an NGO is
an advantages.
